90 day Deep Tissue Detox

I started a detox today with a juice fast: carrot, orange, ginger.

Tonight I may have some fruit - I'll see how I feel.

Click here to take a look at the detox info. It is FREE, and has fantastic information and support.

The side effects were losing weight, softer skin, healthy bowel movements, and an increase in energy. :-)

You can go to http://tinyurl.com/dfqdd7 for info on green smoothies, too.

Just close your eyes and you don't notice! Use baby English spinach at first as this is a mild green and you don't notice the flavour. I use heaps of greens now and less fruit.

Yes - all in the blender together. If you don't have a "super" blender, then put in the greens first with about a cup of water to blend them well. Then add the bananas, blend. Add honey, blend. Finally add any additional fruit and blend again. You can also add a little vanilla extract (or powdered seeds). I put in three teaspoons of chia seeds (soaked in about a cup or so of water first) as they are soothing for the digestive tract.

Hello Mrs Bridget,

Sorry I've not responded sooner, however I've been rather busy.

I buy chia seeds at the local health shop. I soak them (3tspns in a cup of water) so that they become gel-like, then add them to my smoothie.

If you are serious about green smoothies and blending, then the BlendTec and VitaMix are highly recommended. I can't afford one of those, so I have invested in a Breville Professional 800 Collection Die Cast Blender. It is wonderful, and I'm very happy with it. The guarantee on it is much better than the BlendTec (in Australia it is only one year) and it works very well. You're normal blenders work fine to start with, however tend to burn out (I've burnt out two...).

I am a vegetarian. Red meat is extremely bad for my innards and results in a lot of pain for me. I can eat a small amount of chicken or fish, however this leads to cravings for cooked foods, which leads to cravings for wheat and dairy, which leads to bloating, weight gain, sluggish mind, poor sleep, and plays havoc with the fibromyalgia.

Take a look here - http://tinyurl.com/dfqdd7 - at the Green Smoothie Blog for ideas on different smoothies. I'm a guest blogger there.

Thanks for leaving comments here, as it's nice to know that someone has actually read this. :-)

Blessings,
Veronica

PS: You can also use a food processor, however this turns it more into a "roughie" than a "smoothie"
